Re: [Public WebGL] WebGL compute shader support

Hey Markus,
Chromium (Intel in particular) has begun working on experimental support, however due to both the WebGPU project and infeasibility of implementing WebGL compute on Apple platforms, it is unlikely to become a fully cross-browser, cross-platform, enabled-by-default technology. Check out this post/thread:

Hi all,

Are there any updates on compute shader and SSBO support in WebGL?
Compute shaders would extremely exciting for a variety of algorithms
that aren't possible to implement in WebGL 2 right now.

Best,
Markus
