Re: [Public WebGL] First WebGL 2.0 implementations released

Outstanding! :)

In yesterdays stats, WebGL2 went to 2%, the highest since the start of record keeping in October (still low across 30 days of course): http://webglstats.com/webgl2

WebGL community,

The first WebGL 2.0 implementations have been released! Firefox 51 and Chrome 56 are shipping now, and both support the new version of the API, which tracks the OpenGL ES 3.0 feature set. Mozilla wrote a nice blog post describing some of the key new features, and linking to some new demos:

In both browsers, WebGL 2.0 is enabled by default on desktop platforms. Android will follow soon, once the conformance tests have been passed. It's already possible to enable WebGL 2.0 in both browsers on Android for development and testing.

Looking forward to seeing what the community creates with this significant upgrade to the feature set!
