Running the same test (http://codeflow.org/issues/timing/
) on IE on Win8 exhibits the same symptoms of uneven framerates (so a lot of vsync busting), and increased microstutter once you go below 60fps. The transition region between "things are good" and "now it's bad" is also very small, giving a developer preciously little room to detect when a drop from 60fps is imminent.
