Re: [Public WebGL] Non-UNSIGNED_BYTE ReadPixels types



Looking again at our code, it looks like UNSIGNED_SHORT_5_6_5 and friend are INVALID_OPERATION for ReadPixels, but not INVALID_ENUM.
Is this the behavior the spec intends to define?

In the spec, it seems largely consistent that the only (non-extension) format/type pair for ReadPixels is RGBA/UNSIGNED_BYTE.
The language around "5.14.12 Reading back pixels" mentions UNSIGNED_SHORT_5_6_5 and other types, though. Are these mentions effectively leftovers?
