AFAIK yes. I'm writing from memory. IIRC:

<canvas width="320" height="240" style="width:800px; height:600px">

that will make a canvas of 320 x 240 (internally) and display it stretched to 800x600, smooth. Am I right?

Things like that are used for example in complex shaders like those at fractal-io.
