RE: [Public WebGL] Adobe to tax 3D flash games

I see where we misunderstand each other. I was talking about using your WebGL apps with something like phoneGap and a WebGL enabled UIWebView to get it running on iOS. You were talking about just an alternative browser with WebGL enabled. Unfortunately both will require the use of the private API call and therefore are not qualified for the App store. The call will most likely lost the private status (if ever) when mobile safari allows the use of WebGL. So even with this hack the situation of WebGL on iOS is practical the same.as before.

It’s private API. No Chance. Beside of this you can only use it in your own App that make use of UIWebView (30% again).
That clause in apples license agreement covers in-app revenue otherwise known as the "Amazon clause". Afaik it contents that if you provide an app (even a free app) and you generate revenue from it, you're liable for 30% of your revenue to Apple no matter how you make it.

Obviously apple cannot demand 30% from everybody who receives money in the process of using their browser, because those third parties have no revenue sharing agreement with apple. There are other Browsers in the app-store, and no page you visit trough them and spend money at, will have to give Apple money. The same would apply to a "WebGL Enabled Browser" obviously. Of course you might not get it into the app-store for using that hack, but that's another story.
