Most mobile devices tie a lot of these together: a single device specifies the GPU, platform and (for the vast majority of users) browser. Most phones (especially Android ones) don't update the browser much, or the driver capabilities beyond what they launched with.
Not to say that it's easy, of course, but it's not a five-dimensional matrix. It's certainly a much bigger matrix (there are far more phones and tablets than major browsers), but I think it would at least still be reasonably two-dimensional.
