Vulkan Adoption and Conformance Testing
Any company may freely use the publicly released Vulkan specification to create a product, but implementations of the Vulkan API must be tested for conformance in the Khronos Vulkan Adopters program before the Vulkan name or logo may be used in association with an implementation of the API.
Implementers may join the Khronos Vulkan Adopters Program which enables them to download and execute the Vulkan conformance tests and upload the results for peer review within Khronos. If the implementation successfully passes the tests, the Adopter is granted a royalty-free trademark license to use the Vulkan name and logo in association with that implementation - and they can refer to the implementation as being Vulkan conformant or Vulkan compliant.
Benefits of the Vulkan Adopters program:
- Access to the Vulkan 1.0 conformance test source code
- Participation in the Vulkan Adopters technical Mailing list - a private priority channel for two-way interaction with the Vulkan working group over the specification and conformance tests
- For products that successfully pass the conformance tests, use of the Vulkan logo in printed marketing or packaging materials of the product, or use of the Vulkan logo in the actual software application startup screens
- Company listing on the Adopting Members and Conformant Products pages
