The Khronos Group - Media Authoring and Acceleration

The Khronos Group is a not for profit industry consortium creating open standards for the authoring and acceleration of parallel computing, graphics and dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms and devices. All Khronos members are able to contribute to the development of Khronos API specifications, are empowered to vote at various stages before public deployment, and are able to accelerate the delivery of their cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts and conformance tests.

Muthusamy, Yeshwant - Chair of OpenMAX AL Working Group, Independent

Dr. Yeshwant Muthusamy is an Independent member of The Khronos Group. An experienced multimedia technology professional, Yeshwant has made significant contributions to the OpenMAX IL, OpenMAX AL and OpenSL ES API standards over the past seven years and has also served as the Chair of the OpenMAX AL WG. Prior to his standardization work, Yeshwant was a Senior Software Architect in the R&D organization in Nokia. Yeshwant’s areas of expertise include mobile multimedia architecture, audio technology, speech recognition and automatic language identification. He holds two US patents and has authored several book chapters, journal articles and peer-reviewed conference papers. Yeshwant holds a BT from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India and a Ph.D. from the Oregon Graduate Institute, both in Computer Science and Engineering.
