The Khronos Group - Media Authoring and Acceleration

The Khronos Group is a not for profit industry consortium creating open standards for the authoring and acceleration of parallel computing, graphics and dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms and devices. All Khronos members are able to contribute to the development of Khronos API specifications, are empowered to vote at various stages before public deployment, and are able to accelerate the delivery of their cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts and conformance tests.

Plowman, Ed - 3D Graphics Product Manager, ARM Ltd.

Ed Plowman has more than 13 years of experience in media and graphics processing and is currently employed as Intel's Graphics Industry Evangelist for the EMEA region. Previous to joining Intel Ed worked at ARM Ltd, where he guided ARM's graphics processing strategy and also drove the acquisition which led to ARM having its own GPU product line. Ed has also been a long standing Khronos member represents ARM in the OpenGL ES working group, occupying the ARM seat on the Khronos board of promoters and more recently in the post of Khronos treasurer. Ed started his career as one of the founding members of Argonaut technologies (an off shoot of Argonaut Software which later became ARC cores), working on CPU based 3D graphics technology which later provided the foundation for the ARC processor core.
