Background
This page lists the projects for which Khronos is currently seeking contractor resources through its Request for Quotations (RFQ) process.   Typical contracted projects include generating conformance tests, creating API tools and SDKs, and catalyzing open source API implementations.   Any company, whether a Khronos member or not, is cordially invited to contact us on the project contact email, and we will be happy to answer any questions and assist you if you wish to quote.

Khronos NDA
Many RFQs contain Khronos confidential information, in which case the RFQ documents will not be posted below, but non-member companies should send an executed copy of the Khronos NDA to the Contact Email listed in the project below with a request for a copy of the RFQ document: Download NDA

Khronos Members
If your company is a Khronos member, all RFQ information is covered by your membership NDA and is posted directly on the member-only site.

Contractor Agreement
If you are interest to bid, please be aware that all Khronos engineering projects are conducted under the standard Khronos Contractors Agreement. Additionally, contractors will be required to execute the Khronos membership agreement, with membership fees waived, for the duration of the project so they are enabled to participate in Khronos working group meetings.

  AWARDED  OpenCL 2.2 CTS

Project Summary

The primary goal of this project is to enhance and expand the existing OpenCL 2.1 conformance tests to create an OpenCL 2.2 test suite to be used to define conformance for OpenCL 2.2 implementations.

The secondary goal is to analyze the resulting OpenCL 2.2 test suite to determine any licenses necessary to bring the OpenCL test suite into open source under the Khronos Apache 2.0 license.

Upon project completion the OpenCL 2.2 test suite will be made available to OpenCL Adopters under the existing Khronos Adopters Agreement, and Khronos may also use the data from this project to initiate bringing the OpenCL 2.2 test suite into open source.

  AWARDED  glTF Validator

Project Summary

The primary goal of this project is to create a glTF Asset Validator: a tool to validate that a glTF asset conforms to the glTF spec. This will be used to validate pipeline tools such as converters, exporters, and optimizers.

The secondary goal is to create a library of Sample Models for Runtime Validation: a set of sample assets to verify that a runtime engine correctly renders valid glTF assets.

The tertiary goal is to integrate any discovered updates to the glTF schema and specification to enable more rigorous validation.

Upon project completion the Validator will be made available under the standard Khronos open source free-use license for vendors to use to detect conformance issues in their tools. Vendors will also be able to import and render the Sample Models in their run-time to compare against reference renderings. In the future Khronos may integrate the tests into a web-hosted conformance testing and reporting program.

  AWARDED  glTF three.js Loader Update

Project Summary

Update the glTF three.js loader on GitHub to reflect the latest versions of the glTF specification and three.js library, and to drive feedback into the final glTF 1.0 specification.

Create sample implementations and conformance tests for a number of OpenVX functions and integrate them into the existing OpenVX conformance testing framework.
