C Specification

To dynamically enable or disable depth writes, call:

void vkCmdSetDepthWriteEnableEXT(
    VkCommandBuffer                             commandBuffer,
    VkBool32                                    depthWriteEnable);

Parameters

  • commandBuffer is the command buffer into which the command will be recorded.

  • depthWriteEnable specifies if depth writes are enabled.

Description

This command sets the state for a given draw when the graphics pipeline is created with VK_DYNAMIC_STATE_DEPTH_WRITE_ENABLE_EXT set in VkPipelineDynamicStateCreateInfo::pDynamicStates.

  • VUID-vkCmdSetDepthWriteEnableEXT-commandBuffer-parameter
    commandBuffer must be a valid VkCommandBuffer handle

  • VUID-vkCmdSetDepthWriteEnableEXT-commandBuffer-recording
    commandBuffer must be in the recording state

  • VUID-vkCmdSetDepthWriteEnableEXT-commandBuffer-cmdpool
    The VkCommandPool that commandBuffer was allocated from must support graphics operations

Host Synchronization
  • Host access to commandBuffer must be externally synchronized

  • Host access to the VkCommandPool that commandBuffer was allocated from must be externally synchronized
