On your changes to the FAQ: The loop is deliberately infinite; that's the only way to ensure that all errors are accounted for. If it's not infinite, then it's possible for too many errors to build up between calls. In which case, since you didn't put a return statement at the bottom of the function, you get undefined behavior according to C and C++. That is, you will have reached the end of a function without returning a value.

Also, the function should only return if you actually get all the errors. Only an infinite loop can do that. Please do not put the counter back in. Alfonse 01:01, 11 September 2011 (PDT)
