The new Bullet 2.77 Physics SDK features OpenCL cloth simulation, contributed by AMD under the permissive ZLib license. The OpenCL implementation has been tested on AMD and NVIDIA GPUs for Windows and Linux as well as the Apple OpenCL implementation for GPUs on Mac OSX Snow Leopard. The full source code and precompiled Windows executable demos are available for download.

Graphic Remedy is proud to announce the release of gDEBugger Version 5.5 for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and iPhone. This version introduces a powerful AMD GPU performance counters integration, displaying AMD graphic hardware and driver performance counters in gDEBugger’s Performance Graph and Performance Dashboard views, allowing developers to optimize their application over AMD (ATI) graphics hardware. AMD Performance counters are available on Windows, when using ATI Radeon (TM) HD 2000 series or newer with Catalyst (TM) 9.12 or newer. This version also includes a large number of bug fixes and stability improvements. gDEBugger, an OpenGL and OpenGL ES debugger and profiler, traces application activity on top of the OpenGL API, lets programmers see what is happening within the graphic system implementation to find bugs and optimize OpenGL application performance. gDEBugger runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.

The latest version of VMWare Fusion, a virtualization application for Mac was released today. Fusion 3 now offersOpenGL acceleration for Windows machines (OpenGL 1.4 in Windows 7; OpenGL 2.1 in Windows XP) and better DirectX support, which allows for Windows’ Aero 3D effects in both Windows Vista and Windows 7.

AMD announced it is now offering a free OpenCL™ for CPU beta download as part of the ATI Stream SDK v2.0 Beta Program. The beta will help programmers to more easily develop parallel software programs and take further advantage of multi-core x86 CPUs to accelerate software and deliver a better computing experience. AMD has submitted conformance logs from its Microsoft® Windows® and Linux® CPU beta releases to the Khronos Working Group for certification.

Graphic Remedy is proud to announce the release of gDEBugger Version 5.2 for Windows, Mac OS X, iPhone and Linux. The new version adds a new Vertex Batch Statistics view to the gDEBugger Statistics viewer. OpenGL draw function calls are grouped by the number of vertices they push into the graphic pipeline, allowing the user to view and improve the ratio between API calls made and vertices drawn. In addition, the new release introduces OpenGL primitive performance counters, displaying the total number of render primitives and vertices drawn per frame, as well as a breakdown to the specific primitive types (points, lines and triangles). Version 5.2 also includes a public beta release of gDEBugger iPhone. gDEBugger iPhone runs on top of Apple’s iPhone Simulator, enabling developers to debug and optimize iPhone OpenGL ES-based applications within their primary work environment.
