AEC Hackathon: An Industry First

The first Architecture, Engineering, Construction Hackathon. The AEC Hackathon is using open source and open standard technologies to develop the AEC Hackathon’s software solutions--cloud-based solutions are encouraged. It now supports normal maps, import of Blender .blend files, using precalculated lightmaps, includes WebGL performance improvements, and much more. Artillery working on HTML5 and WebGL console quality game for the browser

Artillery gaming company is made up of former Google and Facebook engineers and Sean "Day[9]" Plott--host of StarCraft strategy webshow The Day[9] Daily--as lead game designer, plans to use WebGL and HTML5 to create console-quality games for browsers. While little is known about the game, Artillery's mission statement is "dragging core gaming kicking and screaming into the browser using the latest HTML5 and WebGL technology".

WebGL 3D engine CopperLicht 1.6.3 released

The JavaScript library CopperLicht has just been released in version 1.6.3, adding support for normal maps, compatibility with the 3D editor CopperCube 4.2, and it also now works nicely on Google Chrome for Android. CopperLicht is free to be used, and can be downloaded for free from its website.
