Using WebGL, Pics.io is planning on launching a browser-based service to let people more easily tap into raw photography with their browsers. Pics.io startup founded by a Ukrainian trio thinks it’s time for the Web browser to take on a computing task that so far has resisted the shift toward cloud computing: raw photo editing.
AMD and Adobe announced expanded OpenCL support for Adobe Premiere Pro CC at the National Association of Broadcasters Show 2013, including multi-stream and mixed format accelerated workflows with real-time effects, color grading and finishing with hardware-accelerated rendering to the chosen final destination format.
Eric Berdahl, Adobe Senior Engineering Manager has written an open letter to their users explaining why they use OpenCL. “Even though Adobe does not build hardware and, therefore, does not implement OpenCL, we use OpenCL and we know what features we need, from OpenCL and from OpenCL hardware, to enable us to build even more compelling and efficient applications.” explains Eric.
