Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to include OpenGL ES 3.0

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is not large upgrade in functionality that many users have been waiting for. However, it does add several new features that make it a little more functional for developers, including the addition of OpenGL ES 3.0. Intel submitted a branch of the 3D graphics open source driver (Mesa), and is certified for compliance to the OpenGL ES 3.0 3D Graphics specification for the 3rd Generation Intel Core platform. This specification is expected to be used by many mobile Linux based operating systems in the near future.

VLC 2.1 supports a slew of Khronos APIs

VLC 2.1, known as 'Rincewind', has been released for OS X and is considered a major upgrade. OpenGL has now been ported to OpenGL ES with new video inputs for iOS using OpenGL ES 2. Improvements to the OpenMAX IL decoders, encoders and renderers has been made along with correct YUV-RGB color matrix in the OpenGL shaders.
