Vivante OpenGL ES 3.0 production silicon successfully runs Rightware Basemark ES 3.0 Benchmark

Vivante Corporation announced it became the first mobile GPU vendor to publicly and successfully demonstrate Basemark ES 3.0 in customer silicon. This milestone was achieved and demonstrated at this years DESIGN West, The Embedded System Conference, in San Jose. Freescale Semiconductor's i.MX6Q Application Processor with Vivante's GPU was running the Basemark ES 3.0 benchmark flawlessly.

ARM Reveals Cortex A12 With Malli T600 GPU, OpenGL ES 3.0 for Mid-Range Mobile

ARM has announced the Cortex-A12, a mid-range target solution, with support for OpenGL ES 3.0. The new CPU core design is meant to deliver a 40 percent performance bump over Cortex-A9 designs. As well, the Cortex-A12 includes an improved GPU, the Mali-T622, which packs support for the Mali-V500 video engine and OpenGL ES 3.0 standard.

ARM announces suite of of Graphics Processing Technology supporting OpenGL ES 3.0

ARM unveiled new additions to its Mali GPU family. First up is the Mali-T760, ARM's most powerful GPU to-date, and secondly, the lower-end Mali-T720, ARM's first GPU for midrange devices that supports OpenGL ES 3.0 and OpenCL. ARM's share of the mobile GPU market is growing and now stands at 18 percent, according to Jon Peddie Research.

Chrome and Firefox for Android both now support WebGL

This enables vastly improved performance as well as Construct 2's awesome shader effects such as this ripple transition example. This alone can make for a much more mobile gaming experience in the browser. Firefox appears to support WebGL on all devices. However Chrome have taken a stricter approach, and only enable it on relatively new devices.
