Khronos Group prepares for GDC 2010

The Khronos Group is preparing for the Game Developers Conference 2010. On the Official Khronos GDC Event page, a few of the sessions and speakers have been listed, as well as information regarding the Khronos Group's booth. Session this year will cover OpenCL, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, WebGL and COLLADA. This year there will be two additional sessions, "The Best of Both Worlds: Using UIKit with OpenGL" by Noel Llopis from Snappy Touch, and "An Overview to Creating Games with Palm's Plug-in Development Kit" by Jeff Bush, Director webOS, Graphics & Gaming at Palm.

ImgTec GDC session offers insight into Tile Based Deferred Rendering architecture

Joe Davis and Gordon MacLachlan both from Imagination Technologies, will present their session "Understanding POWERVR SGX Graphics Technology and Optimizing for Great Graphics Performance" on Monday february 28th at 4:15 Room 120 in the North Hall. The aim of this session is to give an expert insight into the POWERVR SGX and SGX MP Tile Based Deferred Rendering architecture and explain to developers how they can use the PVRTune analysis utility, and best programming practice, to optimize their applications for todays mobile devices.

See Khronos and COLLADA at GDC

Please visit Khronos at booth #1444 at the Game Developer Conference (GDC), March 2-4, 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco to learn more about COLLADA. Khronos is also running a series of developer university sessions on Thursday, March 3rd, in Room 301 in the South Hall:

  • WebGL at 9AM
  • OpenGL at 10:30AM
  • Demos at 12 noon
  • COLLADA at 1:30PM
  • OpenCL at 3PM
  • Beer and demos at 4:30PM and finally Mobile APIs at 4:50PM.
