The glTF working group is asking the public for feedback on the Draco mesh compression bitstream and glTF extension spec. The goal is to finalize the extension for ratification by October 22nd.
The Khronos Group has provisionally released OpenVX 1.0, a new standard for computer Vision acceleration (or X-celeration) on hardware (GPU, DSP, FPGA, etc). We need feedback from developers and researchers to understand what changes, if any people would like to see before final specification. Please leave feedback at the Khronos Forums so all the member companies can see it.
The Khronos EGL Working Group is requesting feedback on a change to the definition of EGLint that would disallow using handles as attribute values. If you have feedback on this change, please post it in the discussion boards where the proposed change is described in more detail.
BetaNews has published a well thought out review based on the recent announcement of WebGL. Scott Fulton writes “For three-and-a-half years, the rotating cube corner has pretty much been the ‘test pattern’ for WebGL. But today’s endorsement by the Khronos Group, responsible for OpenGL and OpenGL ES, could catapult this project from virtual stagnation into overdrive.” There is also a good comment discussion on going.
