In a significant step in OpenXR’s rollout across the industry, the OpenXR Working Group has released its Conformance Test Suite, published the tests as Apache 2.0-licensed open source software on GitHub, and launched the OpenXR 1.0 Adopters Program so that implementations can be officially conformant for the first time. Products which are currently in conformance with OpenXR may be found on the Khronos website.

The Khronos Group and Raspberry Pi have come together to work on an open-source implementation of OpenVX™ 1.3, which passes conformance on Raspberry Pi. The open-source implementation passes the Vision, Enhanced Vision, & Neural Net conformance profiles specified in OpenVX 1.3 on Raspberry Pi.
The Khronos Group announces the availability of the SYCL Adopters Program for the C++-based programming framework for parallel programming. Under the Adopters Program, implementers of SYCL 1.2.1 can access an extensive conformance test suite, and then upload their test results to Khronos for review and the opportunity to become officially conformant. Together with the SYCL Adopters Program, Khronos also announces the release of a maintenance update for SYCL 1.2.1, delivering specification clarifications that enable enhanced run-time optimizations.

Synopsys, Inc. announced a new release of its DesignWare ARC MetaWare EV Development Toolkit. The ARC MetaWare EV Development Toolkit offers a programming environment for the EV6x vision processor IP based on the OpenVX open standard API, with a C/C++ compiler and OpenCL C vectorizing compiler. The Toolkit includes OpenVX kernels optimized to run on EV6x Processors, the first hardware-software platform to successfully pass The Khronos Group’s OpenVX 1.2 conformance tests.
Khronos Group promoter member NVIDIA has released the GeForce 397.31 driver. This driver release provides full support for the new Vulkan 1.1 API and passes the Vulkan Conformance Test Suite (CTS) version 1.1.0.3. As well, this driver supports OpenCL 1.2 and OpenGL 4.6.
The Khronos Group announces the release of the Vulkan 1.1 and SPIR-V 1.3 specifications. Version 1.1 expands Vulkan’s core functionality with developer-requested features, such as subgroup operations, while integrating a wide range of proven extensions from Vulkan 1.0. Khronos will also release full Vulkan 1.1 conformance tests into open source and AMD, Arm, Imagination, Intel Corporation, NVIDIA and Qualcomm have implemented conformant Vulkan 1.1 drivers.
Vulkan now ships natively on almost all GPU-enabled platforms, including Windows 7, 8.X, 10, Android 7.0+ and Linux, plus Khronos recently announced open source tools to enable Vulkan 1.0 applications to be ported to macOS and iOS. Vulkan has widespread support in leading games engines including Unreal, Unity, Source 2 from Valve, id Tech, CroTeam’s Serious Engine, CryEngine, and Xenko. Vulkan is being used in over 30 cutting-edge games on diverse desktop and mobile platforms, including Doom, Quake, Roblox, The Talos Principle, Dota 2, and is the exclusive API used in AAA titles such as Wolfenstein II and Doom VFR.
Read the press release and learn more about the Vulkan 1.1 specification and associated tests and tools on the Vulkan home page.
Khronos announced the conformance program for OpenGL 4.6 and Intel has successfully passed conformance tests for its GPU models for the Mesa Linux driver. For specifics on the conformant hardware you can check the list of conformant OpenGL products at the Khronos website. Learn more about these drivers and the OpenGL conformance tests and why they are important to you.

The Khronos™ Group, an open consortium of leading hardware and software companies creating advanced acceleration standards, announces the launch of the OpenGL® 4.6 Adopters Program to enable implementations to become officially conformant to the latest generation OpenGL specification. The significantly enhanced OpenGL 4.6 Conformance Test Suite used in the Adopters Program has been released in open source on GitHub to enable industry participation in testing and ongoing conformance test suite improvements. General information on Khronos Adopters Programs can be found here.
The Khronos Group announces the ratification and public release of the finalized SYCL 1.2.1 specification. SYCL for OpenCL enables code for heterogeneous processors to be written in a “single-source” style using completely standard modern C++. The multi-vendor SYCL 1.2.1 standard is available royalty-free for industry use, and the full specification together with details about the SYCL open-sourced conformance test suite and Adopters Program are online.

The Khronos Group announces an updated Adopters Program for OpenVX, the open, cross-platform, royalty-free standard for computer vision and inferencing acceleration. The updated OpenVX Adopters Program includes a new version of the full conformance tests for the latest iteration of the standard, OpenVX 1.2, and the process by which Adopters can run those tests and submit the results for working group review. Once these tests are successfully passed, Adopters are enabled to label their product as OpenVX conformant, use a royalty-free trademark license for the OpenVX name and logo in association with their implementation, gain protection from the Khronos IP framework and enjoy marketing promotion from the Khronos Group.
