If used correctly, OpenCL images / textures can give you large speedups on GPUs. In this post, author Erik Smistad shows you a very short example of how to use OpenCL to blur/smooth an image. The goal is to show how images/textures are used in OpenCL and the benefits of using them.

Heat transfer and, more generally, parabolic partial differential equations are a very important class of problems in physics and mathematics. Analytic solutions aren't available for real-world problems where initial and boundary conditions can be arbitrary. After five WebGL Camps in the USA, WebGL Camp is now coming to Europe being hosted by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. WebGL Camp Europe is now looking for speakers. A limited number (1-2) of non-European based presentations via Skype will be possible too. Learning OpenGL ES is contains a series of tutorials and lessons for Android, focusing on OpenGL ES 2.0. The site has lots of resources, and looks like a promising place to help developers get off to a good start with OpenGL ES and Android.

The Joint And Object (JOA) Framework is a set of javascript templates and a "class" so that beginners can make use of this technology without having to learn the lower level WebGL stuff. The JOA Framework is a combination of a template, support files, user data file, example files and manual. The template file and support files are all modified or unmodified versions of the files used in the WebGL tutorials on LearningWebGL.
