The Khronos Group is preparing for the Game Developers Conference 2010. On the Official Khronos GDC Event page, a few of the sessions and speakers have been listed, as well as information regarding the Khronos Group's booth. Session this year will cover OpenCL, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, WebGL and COLLADA. This year there will be two additional sessions, "The Best of Both Worlds: Using UIKit with OpenGL" by Noel Llopis from Snappy Touch, and "An Overview to Creating Games with Palm's Plug-in Development Kit" by Jeff Bush, Director webOS, Graphics & Gaming at Palm.

Metismo, a Mobile technology firm, has released an OpenGL ES library for the PSP. Originally developed as part of its Bedrock mobile porting technology, Metismo has decided to release the OpenGL ES package as a static library that can be linked to the SN Systems compiler.

The latest version of the OpenCTM 3D mesh viewer (part of the OpenCTM v1.0.2 SDK) has support for loading, viewing and saving several different file formats (OpenCTM, COLLADA, STL, PLY, OBJ and 3DS), making it a convenient companion tool for 3D graphics developers and artists. The viewer uses OpenGL for its 3D view and GUI, and works under Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, etc. OpenCTM is a file format, software library and a tool set for compression of triangle meshes. It fits well with the current OpenGL rendering pipeline, with support for custom shader attributes among other things.

Mark Steele is suggesting that Cube Defense game demo by Yohei Shimomae, is possibly the first fully playable WebGL game. Considering it is put together without documentation, Mark feels encouraged by what he sees. Take the game for a spin, and see for yourself. A WebGL enabled browser is required.
The Open Toolkit library is an advanced, low-level C# wrapper around OpenGL, OpenCL and OpenAL. It is suitable for games, scientific applications and any other project that requires 3D graphics, audio or compute functionality. Version 1.0 beta-1 introduces type-safe OpenGL ES 2.0 binding and a large number of new OpenGL tutorials on triangle picking, shaders, cubemaps and vertex buffer objects. It also contains a significant number of bug- and stability fixes; improves multi-monitor support; and improves support for multi-threading. WebGL is now available in WebKit nightlies. If you run Leopard or Snow Leopard you can try it out WebGL yourself. WebGL runs in the HTML Canvas element, and works similarly to the 2D Canvas capability currently in WebKit. You can download the nightly build on the Webkit website.
WebGL is being built into Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari and now Google's Chrome browser. WebGL can be used in the latest Chrome developer preview version--but only if "--enable-webgl" and "--no-sandbox" command-line switches are added when Chrome launches. The latest versions are Chrome 220.127.116.11 for Windows and 18.104.22.168 for Mac OS X and Linux.
OpenTK is an advanced, cross-platform library that provides Mono/.Net OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenAL and OpenCL bindings. The latest version adds support for all OpenGL ES extensions, significantly improves the OpenCL bindings and the ARB_imaging subset of OpenGL. A new compatibility module now allows Tao framework applications to run on OpenTK and improves behavior on broken xlib implementations. Finally, this version adds support for the iPhone platform via the MonoTouch project.
