The Graphical Web 2014 is being organised by the Data Visualisation Centre, UK Office for National Statistics and will be held at the University of Winchester, England over 4 days from Wednesday August 27th through to Saturday August 30th. The theme of the conference will be Visual Storytelling using new technology to produce compelling visual narratives on the web. Neil Trevett will be giving a State of the Union address on WebGL and WebCL, as well the Khronos Group will be sponsoring this event.

The Khronos Toronto Chapter will be holding their next meetup on Thursday July 10 on Yonge street in Toronto at the Uken Games Office. Vanda Engine 1.3 source code is now available on SourceForge and on Github. Vanda Engine 1.3 is based on the COLLADA RT project (using COLLADA DOM) and can import COLLADA 1.4 format. There are many bug fixes and several new features have been added to allow import of most of the features of COLLADA 1.4 including animation clips, multiple UV sets and loading cameras. OpenGL 3.0 is being used to render the scenes.
Every month StreamComputing offers an OpenCL training in Mathematics or Media-operations. Target is OpenCL 1.2. OpenCL 2.0 trainings will start in Q2/Q3, or on request. All trainings will be given by an experienced OpenCL developer/trainer.

The International Workshop on OpenCL (IWOCL) brings together leading OpenCL experts from academia and industry, including many members of the OpenCL Khronos work group. Presenting at the second annual workshop 12-13 May 2014 at Bristol University England will be Altera, Qualcomm, ARM, Intel and ArrayFire.
