Kanzi™ is a robust application for creation of applications with 3D graphics user interfaces for embedded solutions. Kanzi is offered for licensing to manufacturers of cell phone, automotive and consumer electronics products. Manufacturers using Kanzi will benefit from completely eliminating the need for prototyping and then having to re-create the same content separately for the target device. Kanzi technology is already used by almost every major semiconductor company in the form of Futuremark’s OpenGL® ES benchmarks, software which helps tune the performance of new chips.
Futuremark launched Mirada™, a new benchmark to measure the performance of 3D graphical display systems used in the automotive industry. The Mirada automotive display benchmark is built upon the latest OpenGL ES 2.0 version of Futuremark’s Kanzi™ user interface engine for automotive, mobile and embedded devices.
Presto3D is the destination site for 3D artists looking to show off their 3D artwork. Now, Presto3D.com extends these frontiers by allowing 3D previews to be embedded anywhere on the web. Like YouTube, anyone can embed a preview of a 3D model on any website or blog. The preview will appear just as it does on Presto3D.com, and contain links back to other work by that artist. Unlike slower Flash-based or Java-based web solutions out there, Presto3D leverages OpenGL through its high-performance Feeling Engine to display rich COLLADA content including animated characters.
The COLLADA working group has extended it solicitation for bids for the improvement of the COLLADA Conformance Test Suite (COLLADA CTS). Web3D.org has announced a deadline extension for a call for papers to the 13th International Symposium on 3D Web Technology. The annual Web3D Symposium is a major event, which unites researchers, developers, experimenters, and content creators in a dynamic learning environment. Attendees share and explore methods of using, enhancing, or creating new 3D Web and Multimedia technologies, such as (but not limited to) X3D, VRML, COLLADA, Croquet, MPEG4, MPEG7, Java3D, and Canvas3D. The symposium will also focus on recent trends such as interactive 3D graphics and applications on mobile devices. Authors are invited to submit their work (short or full papers) for review by the international Program Committee. Both research and applications papers are of interest to Web3D 2008. The papers must be innovative and contribute to the advancement of 3D Multimedia technologies on the Web. For more information please visit the Web3D 2008 Symposium call for papers home page now.
