The partnership between ALT Software and Hybrid Graphics will allow both companies to expand their customer base and product offerings by jointly providing system integration services, software products and more flexible and responsive customer support for graphics rendering on embedded devices using OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenVG and Java. Together their products address automotive, avionics, mobile, medical, and instrumentation markets.
Imagination Technologies has implemented full acceleration for OpenVG on the PowerVR MBX, achieving many times the performance of software implementations with significantly reduced power consumption. The new OpenVG acceleration along with OpenGL ES full 3D hardware acceleration of 32-bit pixel blending, hidden surface elimination, multi-texturing, anisotropic filtering and texture compression, will be shown at the companys stand at the 3GSM World Congress 2006 in Barcelona, Spain from 13-16 February 2006.
Khronos member, MTIS will provide engineering resources and graphics expertise to develop the OpenVG Conformance test suite for availability in the first half of 2006. The Khronos OpenVG working group will specify and approve the conformance tests to ensure that implementations that use the OpenVG logo are of a high quality - enabling the OpenVG API to provide a reliable and consistent platform for software and hardware developers.
AlexVG is the first commercial software engine based on the OpenVG 1.0 API. This video capture of the demo produced for IBC2005 shows OpenVG rendering of paths, images, paint, blending, transformation, and image filters. The demo running under desktop Windows is not hardware accelerated, but the images are nevertheless smooth and fluidly scalable with sophisticated transitions, filters and effects. AlexVG is hardware scalable and can be used in SVG viewers, electronic maps, e-books, graphic user interfaces, and games.
alexVG is the first commercial software engine based on the OpenVG 1.0 API, The high performance rendering pipeline offers complete support for paths, images, paint, blending, transformation, and image filters. Uses include SVG viewers, electronic maps, e-books, graphic user interfaces, and games. MTIS will demonstrate alexVG at the Khronos Press Conference at IBC2005, 12 September 2005.
