ATI has announced the production release of their Stream SDK v2.0. The ATI Stream SDK is a complete development platform which allows you to quickly and easily develop applications accelerated by ATI Stream technology using OpenCL. New features include support for OpenCL™ ICD (Installable Client Driver), support for atomic functions for 32-bit integers and support for OpenCL / OpenGL interoperability.
The Open Toolkit library is an advanced, low-level C# wrapper around OpenGL, OpenCL and OpenAL. It is suitable for games, scientific applications and any other project that requires 3D graphics, audio or compute functionality. Version 1.0 beta-1 introduces type-safe OpenGL ES 2.0 binding and a large number of new OpenGL tutorials on triangle picking, shaders, cubemaps and vertex buffer objects. It also contains a significant number of bug- and stability fixes; improves multi-monitor support; and improves support for multi-threading. Due to the amount and impact of the included bug fixes, users of previous versions are strongly encouraged to upgrade.
The Khronos Group announced today that it has ratified and publicly released the OpenWF Composition 1.0 and OpenWF Display 1.0 specifications, forming a new royalty-free, open standard for building windowing systems and accessing display control functionality in accelerated mobile and embedded devices. OpenWF enables a new degree of portability, acceleration and abstraction for windowing systems while adding functionality and features through close integration with Khronos application APIs. The OpenWF standard is accompanied by an open source sample implementation and a full suite of conformance tests implemented by the Khronos Group.

Top500.org will announce the new list of world's most powerful supercomputers during this month during Supercomputing 09 conference held in Portland, Oregon between November 14-20. Among those announcements, the Chinese National University of Defense Technology is hoping to have their new system listed in the top ten, running in practice at 563.1 TFLOPS and theoretically at 1.206 PFLOPS using GPUs running Linpack, SOPEoptimized code. Their supercomputer is using 5120 AMD RV770 GPUs.
