Brutch, Tasneem - Director at Advanced Software Platforms, Samsung Research America


Tasneem Brutch is Chair of the WebCL working group in Khronos, and is Director at Advanced Software Platforms, Samsung Research America. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, where she was a member of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society. She was awarded a USENIX scholarship for her Ph.D. research in the area of security for mobile and distributed computing. Her Masters research was in multicore and parallel computing. Prior to Samsung, she was as a Sr. Architect at Intel Corporation, and a Sr. Security Software Design Engineer at Hewlett-Packard. At HP, she worked on Host-Based Intrusion Detection System. Her projects at Intel included Intel Active Management Technology, Integrated Trusted Platform Module (iTPM), and Virtual TPM (vTPM). In Trusted Computing Group, she co-chaired the Compliance, Compliance-PC TPM, and TPM Security Evaluation groups and led security evaluation of TPM-Next Gen on behalf of Intel She chairs the Parallel Software Tools and Tool Infrastructures (PSTI) workshop. Her focus areas of research include web acceleration, mobile computing, system and network security, multicore, GPGPUs, parallel computing and gaming frameworks. She previously chaired Multicore Association’s Tool Infrastructure Work Group (TIWG). Tasneem has 14 filed patents and a number of publications in the areas of security, mobile/distributed computing and multicore/parallel computing and tools.
