3DSMax vs Maya importer/exporter status.
I'm currently putting together an importer and referencing the latest 3DSMax and Maya importers as I go. It seems like there is some disparity between the two. Maya seems to support import and export of tangent space bases but 3DSMax doesn't.
Is there any place I can look up a planned implementation timeline of features for each importer/exporter?
I'm still pretty new to Collada so sorry if I'm stating the obvious.

3dsMax does expose an experimental export of texture tangents and binormals. It works pretty well with triangulated meshes. On the other hand, Maya does not import geometric or texture tangents. As far as texture tangents are concerned, the feature set is very similar.
