Using Advanced PBR Material Parameters in glTF

  • Date: Tuesday, September 20, 2022
  • Start Time: 10:00 PDT, 1:00 EST, 19:00 CET
  • Duration: 60 mins
Description: Materials in glTF 2.0 use Physically Based Rendering (PBR) as a means of describing physical material properties to rendering engines. Recent extensions have added parameters such as Index of Refraction, volumetric absorption, and iridescence, extending the range of physical materials that can be expressed. These PBR extensions bridge the gap between path tracing and real-time rasterization, enabling model compatibility across a range of engines from mobile to high-end rendering. In this webinar we will take an in-depth look at the new PBR extensions, offer some insight into the design process, and compare path-traced outputs to real-time approximations.
