The X.Org Developer's Conference (XDC) is the event for developers working on all things Open graphics (Linux kernel, Mesa, DRM, Wayland, X11, etc.). XDC 2019 will take place at the Concordia University Conference Centre. As usual, talks will be live-streamed. Stay tuned for more information! We are looking forward to seeing you there!

The 2019 X.Org Developer's Conference will take place October 2-4 in Montreal, Canada at Concordia University. It is important to note that registration might close earlier than the dates indicated if the maximum capacity is reached. In the past few years, this has happened a few weeks before the start of the conference. Early registration is therefore recommended.

Zink: OpenGL on Vulkan

Zink is a work-in-progress Mesa Gallium driver that implements OpenGL on top of Vulkan. This talk will discuss why and how, and give an update on what's happened in Zink recently.

Introducing the Vulkan WSI layer: the starting point for a driver-agnostic Vulkan swapchain implementation. We've open sourced a working layer that implements VK_EXT_headless_surface and VK_KHR_swapchain, as a starting point to develop a generic implementation for the different Linux windowing systems.

We'll present the project and its current status, and open for discussion on how we can best collaborate on this important piece of the wider Linux graphics puzzle.
