Updating Next Generation Khronos APIs for Game Development featuring Vulkan, OpenXR, WebGL, and glTF
In this session, Khronos Group President Neil Trevett will discuss Khronos royalty-free, open standards that play a key role in the computer entertainment industry: Vulkan and OpenGL for desktop 3D graphics including compute-intensive needs, OpenXR for AR/VR applications, WebGL for 3D graphics on the web without the need for browser plugins, and glTF for reliably transferring 3D models between applications. These standards were created by a consortium of companies, so developers using them can be assured that their code will be portable and supported on a wider range of platforms.
Those who are familiar with 3D APIs such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan and Direct3D and who have experience with 3D graphics programming or managing 3D graphics projects.
