From the 27th to 30th November in Bangkok, Thailand, the tenth edition of SIGGRAPH Asia will showcase some of the world’s top professionals, academics and creative minds who are at the forefront of digital imaging, research, science, art, animation, gaming, interactivity, education and emerging technologies. The event is the region’s largest annual conference and exhibition oncomputer graphics and interactive techniques.
Speaker: Neil Trevett, President Khronos, Vice President NVIDIA
The Khronos Group develops an ecosystem of open, royalty-free, low-level silicon acceleration standards. This session will provide an up-to-the-minute overview of Khronos APIs and file formats that are directly relevant to 3D, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, including:
Vulkan and WebGL for interactive 3D rendering on native and Web platforms
OpenXR for cross-platform, portable Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
glTF for efficient runtime transmission of 3D assets and scenes
OpenVX for portable, power efficient vision processing
NNEF for exchanging Neural Network information between training and inferencing frameworks - OpenCL for general purpose, heterogeneous parallel processing.
Author(s)/Speaker(s): Edward Angel, University of New Mexico Dave Shreiner, Unity Technologies
This course provides an introduction to application programming with WebGL. We introduce both the API and its integration within the HTML5 framework. Our focus will include basic applications of WebGL and converting from desktop OpenGL to WebGL.
Author(s)/Speaker(s): Xavier Ho, CSIRO, University of Sydney Juan de Joya, DigitalFish at Facebook
WebGL 2.0 has landed, and future of web graphics is here. What are the current state-of-the-art web graphics rendering techniques? We will cover many new features, including geometry instancing, transform feedback, and 3D textures. Attendees will take away rendering and optimisation techniques with WebGL 2.0.
