COLLADA Adoption and Conformance Testing
Any company may freely use the publicly released COLLADA specification to create a product, but implementations of the COLLADA specification must be tested for conformance in the Khronos COLLADA Adopters program before the COLLADA name or logo may be used in association with an implementation of the specification.
Implementers may join the Khronos COLLADA Adopters Program which enables them to download and execute the COLLADA conformance tests and upload the results for peer review within Khronos. If the implementation successfully passes the tests, the Adopter is granted a royalty-free trademark license to use the COLLADA name and logo in association with that implementation - and they can refer to the implementation as being COLLADA conformant or COLLADA compliant.
Benefits of the COLLADA Adopters program:
- Access to the COLLADA 1.4 conformance test source code
- Participation in the COLLADA Adopters technical Mailing list - a private priority channel for two-way interaction with the COLLADA working group over the specification and conformance tests
- Conformant products may use the COLLADA name and logo
- Conformant Companies get a listing on the Adopting Members and Conformant Companies pages
