Re: [Public WebCL] working with texture example?

Hi Tomi,

May be I confuse "texture" with "image"? Won Jeon wrote something like

var ctx = WebCL.createContext(...);
var queue = ctx.createCommandQueue(devices[0], 0);
var image = ctx.createImage2D(...);
var w = image.width;
var h = image.height;
var event_wait_list = [];
var pitchSliceInfo = WebCL.createDataObject();
queue.enqueueMapImage(image, true,  CL_MAP_READ, [0, 0, 0], [w, h, 0],
		event_wait_list, pitchSliceInfo);
var image_row_pitch = pitchSliceInfo.get(...);
var image_row_slice = pitchSlinceInfo.get(...);

is there more complete example? And can I use WebCL in Firefox 6? (I have to use 2 browsers for WebCL and Floating point textures in WebGL)

Hi Evgeny,

We haven't really experimented with textures yet, because they're not supported in the AMD APP SDK. We've wanted to keep the tutorials portable, and ruling out the AMD CPU driver would be particularly bad because that's our recommended solution for people who can't or don't want to use the GPU.

That said, if you're able to cook up a texturing example, we'd be happy to link to that. The performance improvement that you'll get on a GPU, compared to using byte arrays, is probably massive.

Best regards,
   Tomi

don't you have (make) an example how to use textures (load etc.) in Nokia WebCL? ----------------------------------------------------------- You are currently subscribed to public_webcl@khronos.org.
