We haven't really experimented with textures yet, because they're not supported in the AMD APP SDK. We've wanted to keep the tutorials portable, and ruling out the AMD CPU driver would be particularly bad because that's our recommended solution for people who can't or don't want to use the GPU. 

That said, if you're able to cook up a texturing example, we'd be happy to link to that. The performance improvement that you'll get on a GPU, compared to using byte arrays, is probably massive.

don't you have (make) an example how to use textures (load etc.) in Nokia WebCL?
