Dave Shreiner selected as 41st annual SIGGRAPH 2014 conference chair

Dave Shreiner was recently selected to be the conference chair of the 41st annual SIGGRAPH conference in 2014. "Having attended the conference annually for more than half of my life, and actively presented at it over the last decade, being selected to chair the conference is a great personal honor, huge responsibility, and an immense opportunity" wrote Dave Shreiner. Dave Shreiner is currently Director of Graphics Technology - Media Processing Division at ARM.

The 17th edition of ACM International Web3D Conference will take place in Los Angeles Convention Center, California, in August 04-05, 2012. Introduction to Modern OpenGL - SIGGRAPH 2012 course

Introduction to Modern OpenGL is an introductory course which offers an overview of the complete OpenGL pipeline, introducing all the latest shader stages. Other topics introduced are the shader-based pipeline, and a summary of key graphics concepts: the synthetic-camera model, transformations, viewing, and lighting. Siggraph 2012 offering five courses related to Khronos Technology

There will be five courses offered at Siggraph 2012 that relate to Khronos Technologies. Starting on August 5th followed by one course each day, there will be "Introduction to Modern OpenGL", "Virtual Texturing in Software and Hardware", "Beyond Programmable Shading", "GPU Shaders for OpenGL 4.x" and finally on August 9th "Graphics Programming for the Web." OpenCOLLADA and COLLADA CTS now on GitHub

OpenCOLLADA and the COLLADA Conformance Test Suite repositories are now both hosted on GitHub. As a reminder, please note that to bring integration of OpenCOLLADA plugins within the test suite and bug fixing, Khronos has issued a Request for Quotations (RFQ). This RFQ is open for bidding and you are welcome to request a copy through the public_collada mailing list. Last but not least, while at Siggraph, do not forget to stop by our both and to bring your demos! The COLLADA working group looks forward to hearing from you!
