The Khronos Group is a not for profit industry consortium creating open standards for the authoring and acceleration of parallel computing, graphics, dynamic media, computer vision and sensor processing on a wide variety of platforms and devices. All Khronos members are able to contribute to the development of Khronos API specifications, are empowered to vote at various stages before public deployment, and are able to accelerate the delivery of their cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts and conformance tests.

Spore - offers COLLADA export of models - 113 million models to choose from

Spore, the multi-genre massively single-player metaverse god game developed by Maxis and available as a download from Electronic Arts has released a new patch. This patch allows people who agree to a EULA the ability to download creatures and vehicles in the COLLADA format for use in Maya and other applications that support the COLLADA format. With almost 113 million different creatures and vehicles available, this makes for possibly the largest model repository available. There is a short preview of Spore available on YouTube.
