It's been an incredible week hasn't it? The latest news about OpenGL rendering Zombies faster than Direct3D really got the twittersphere going! SimLab Composer 2013 adds WebGL export capability and ARM has submitted the Mali-T604 GPU for full profile OpenCL conformance. Khronos Group SIGGRAPH slide presentations now online

The Khronos Group has posted most of the slide presentations from the SIGGRAPH BOFs online. Slide sets include COLLADA, OpenCL, OpenGL, OpenGL ES and WebGL. Developers will be particularly interested in these slides which include overviews of OpenGL 4.3, OpenGL ES 3.0 and CLU extension. There is also the slide deck from Kurt Akeley.

Khronos OpenCOLLADA Request for Quotations

The Khronos Group has funded a $20K project to fix OpenCOLLADA bugs. This RFQ is open to anyone who wants to bid. An RFQ PDF is available right now online. Khronos is looking to finalize the vendor selection in September.

COLLADA2JSON and WebGL meetup coming in October in San Francisco

Tony Parisi, author of WebGL: Up and Running, has put together a COLLADA2JSON and WebGL meetup at 3D Systems in San Francisco, on October 25th. Special guest speaker is Fabrice Robinet, a software engineer working at Motorola Mobility and chair of the COLLADA working group. Previously, Fabrice worked at Apple where he co-created with Thomas Goossens the SceneKit framework that allows to load, manipulate and render COLLADA assets.
