Pico Pixel has added support for Khronos Texture Format (KTX). Also new is an SDK that makes it very easy to capture the color or depth buffer of any OpenGL program and send it to Pico Pixel for visualization.
The Khronos EGL Working Group is requesting feedback on a change to the definition of EGLint that would disallow using handles as attribute values. If you have feedback on this change, please post it in the discussion boards where the proposed change is described in more detail.
VLC 2.1, known as 'Rincewind', has been released for OS X and is considered a major upgrade. OpenGL has now been ported to OpenGL ES with new video inputs for iOS using OpenGL ES 2. Improvements to the OpenMAX IL decoders, encoders and renderers has been made along with correct YUV-RGB color matrix in the OpenGL shaders.
At at IBC this year, AMD demonstrated a 4K CinemaDNG workflow for Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 10 color-grading. Using a Supermicro 7047GR-TRF SuperWorkstation to run four AMD FirePro W-series graphics cards, the GPU-accelerated workflow relied on Blackmagic's OpenCL support for Windows and Mac to enable real-time playback of CinemaDNG.

ARES Security Corporation has announced AVERT 7, which improves the software's modeling capability with the use of the COLLADA model format. This format greatly enhances the re-usability of existing models in both open source and propriety data sources as well as use 2D & 3D geometry from existing data stores such as computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS). AVERT visually depicts, analyzes and optimizes physical security.

At the International Broadcast Conference, Vanguard Video announced H.265/HEVC codecs for a broad range of hardware and software platforms, including x86, ARM, OpenCL GPU, and FPGA IP Cores. Vanguard Video is previewing an OpenCL GPU HEVC encoder accelerator that more than doubles the performance of the V.265 software encoder running on the main processor. This technology was demonstrated at the Intel booth.

Imagination Technologies has developed a set of extensions to allow image conversion on the fly, using the Khronos Groups OpenCL and EGL technology. ImgTec converts the camera YUV data to RGB using the OES_EGL_image_external extension, and then use PowerVR’s zero-copy functionality to directly access the camera texture data from OpenCL.
