    New obstructions to download SDK

It seems that a new obstruction has been added which makes downloading the SDK more difficult. I pulled down the beta version just before these hurdles were added. Looking at the LICENSES file in that tarball, it seems like the code is all LGPL, GPL and SGI FreeB.

Based on this observation, I would expect to be able to distribute this earlier tarball without restriction, ie. treat it as "Open Source Software".

Can anyone comment as to whether my interpretation of the LICENSES file in the ml-1_0beta2.linux.tgz tarball is correct?

Can anyone comment as to whether this licensing is maintained in the 1.0 SDK?

Can anyone explain the rationale behind the new download mechanisms?

Re: New obstructions to download SDK

I personally can't also understand why a SDK that's supposed to share the spirit
of the open and anonymous available OpenGL
    hast to undergo such restrictions.
I mean, those weren't on the betas and I doubt it will help spreading
    the SDK fast.
