    Re: WHY?

    Yes, WebCL is an emerging technology (as like as WebGL 2 years ago), but
    1. Apple, NVIDIA, AMD, Intel include support for OpenCL, GPGPU, parallel calculations.. (it's just Moore's law)
    2. Chrome,...

    Floating point textures?

    For GPU based simulations (e.g. solving equations with partial derivatives on GPU) one could store (and render) floating point data in textures. In core OpenGL ES 2.0, there are ratified extensions...

    compressed meshes?

    Is it possible to use in WebGL compressed meshes?
    (e.g. 194kb spline based "bike" :)
    http://www.ibiblio.org/e-notes/webgl/models.htm
    VRML models are usually compressed 5-6 times by gzip.

    Re: The Moon, Jupiter, Mars globes

    1. I have to add the second string

    gl.viewport(0, 0, size, size);

    Re: The Moon, Jupiter, Mars globes

    I replaced 2 and 3 strings
    gl.bindBuffer()
    gl.vertexAttribPointer();
    gl.bufferData();
    and now 3d models work in Google Chrome. Mars and Jupiter do not work (both have >100kb textures). And...
