I'm considering purchasing either a phone or a pda device for OpenGL ES 1.1 development, but I want to know which devices (if any?) have hardware accelerated implementations of the API? How are programs compiled / transferred to these devices and which devices make that process easy? What about debugging the execution on the phone/pda? If hardware acceleration is not around yet, which phones are the better performing ones in terms of graphics speed? I'm looking for specific manufacturers/model #'s. Are the Nokia Series 60 phones the only phones with OpenGL ES capabilities? What about Series 40/80? What about phones made by other manufacturers?

I have been writing 3d graphics code and software for many years, I know OpenGL very well, but I've never written anything for a portable device. Any responses will be much appreciated =).

thanks,
trey
